"I wish I still had my____"

Snow and ice outside, won't be climbing any ladders today, so...

Had no idea "vintage" would some day be a "good" thing.

Taco 100 minibike- 5 horse Briggs, f&r suspension, a jackshaft, brakes that worked.

Hodaka Ace 90- Aftermarket pipe, Preston Pettys, Dildo grips, a desert tank w/ the foam gas cap donut (always leaked.)

CR125M Elsinore- DG pipe, FMF Porcupine head, aftermarket Mikuni carb, modified swingarm w/ forward shocks, high seat, other stuff I forget.

Not vintage, but here's one I wish I NEVER had: 1989 ATK406.

1973 Honda CR70H (4 spped manual clutch!) bright metallic green, fold down handlebars and a tear in the seat. Rode it in jungle boots, jeans, a flack jacket & Captain America helmet with Jofa guard and bare hands (Wardy would be proud).

I had a '73 TM250 Suzuki owned by Mark Blackwell.

Aluminum tank, Akront rims, beautifully reinforced swingarm with the lower shock mounts moved forward, Boge shocks, T&M pipe, etc...

It threw the chain, broke the side case and damaged the center case, so my dad gave it away when we moved in 1979.

There's a few others I'd want back, too, like my little brother's '75 XR75. Man, we had hours and hours of fun riding that on the vacant land next door to our house. Pretty much every day after school.

My 1972 Toyota FJ40. I have had dreams that I got it back and was restoring it. That was my first "real car" even though it spent most of it's time in the woods. I brought my first child home in that sucker back in 80. Forest green and wagon wheels...

Those old LandCruisers are worth their weight in gold on the market around here these days. I always thought it was a travesty what Toy did with the Landcruiser name, turning into a rich-man's luxury roller. The new FJs are what the old FJs should have morphed into--without the 30-year gap.
I wish I had every bike and muscle car I ever owned.......And many I never owned !

Too bad we can't get the current left hand drive Landcuriser 70 (the wagon workmate ones) in the states. I spent half a year driving them in Africa last year and they are awesome. Link below.

I still have my first bike 1974 Honda MR50 I was 9 years old and paid $327.00 for it. The one I want back is my 1984 Factory FMF Honda CR125 with CR 250 forks & front brakes works Honda rear linkage oliens factory rear shock. That may need revalved for my new weight. If you find this in a shed it will make a great post vintage bike. (I still have the ignition and carb for it)

Prices sure have changed!

My first bike was a 3 year old '73 Suzuki TC100. We paid $280. My little brother got a modified JT-2 Yamaha 60 for like $200, then upgraded to a '75 XR75 for $300.

In the mid '70s, if you bought a dirt bike for over $1,000 it was probably a brand new Husky.

My first brand new bike was an '84 KDX200. I think it was $1,650 for the bike and about $1,800 OTD.

'74 CR125M Elsinore....... $714
I remember, I worked after school making pizzas and all summer for it. Coming off a Hodaka Ace 90, it was quite "different."
