If you are looking for more bottom end to mid range power then I would suggest the FMF Torque pipe. Model K-G35

Is this the FMF Gnarly Woods pipe ? K-G35 ? is this the "torque"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If a stronger mid range to top end is what you’re after then the FMF Rev pipe. Model K-G30

Is this the FMF Gnarly Desert Pipe ? K-G30 ? is this the "rev"

by the way, i want to get the desert pipe, which is the one for more mid to top. am i correct ?

just a little confused and wanted to clear this up so i can get the right pipe lol

im sure this topic has been posted before....but any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure but I think the rev and the desert, and the torque and the woods are different. I know the gnarly pipes have thicker gauge steel on the front and bottom although they may perform alike.
FMF's web site is less vague than Fredette's on this, look at them both and it should help.

According to fmf the rev has 19ga. steel and the gnarly desert has a thicker 18ga. they are different pipes with possibly the same performance.

people call the desert the rev because it helps the bike rev out much further than stock. the torque and the woods are the same. people call it the torque because it puts the meat of the powerband in the low end and mid range. by the way whatever they are called they are always and fmf gnarly woods or gnarly desert, and they are both made out of 18g steel.

the woods and the torque are the same thing. what you are referring too is that the desert pipe is sometimes called a torque pipe for the 220 because it improves power from bottom end to the top end.

You show me that they make 4 different pipes for the KDX... they don't. They make two.

Uh... I did. there are only 2 for the 95 and up KDX.

The FATTY is only for the 86-88 and 89-94 KDX200.....

I've had a Fatty on my '95 since '96. Back then they didn't have the Gnarly. I just thought they didn't make/sell the Fatty anymore, thinking the Gnarly replaced it. But, I guess since it fits my '95 it would fit all newer models also.

Yes it would... and I have one also but they are not made anymore and it would be hard to find a new one I think.
Heck... I even have a Woods pipe stamped K-30.... I bought a e-line cf guard and it wouldn't fit because I thought it was a desert pipe. FMF does some strange stuff......
