Hi, I'm dne' here in Houston, tX. I found this site while searching for a spark arrestor for my dRZ400, and someone here has one! I spend most of my time on TLzone.net, but since I now have DR's, I'll be here and there! Tomorrow, I'll be going to the National Forest near Conroe, by myself, I'm hoping there will be other folks there. I found out that the stock can has a built in arrestor??? is this so? I can't ride in the forest without one.

Yes, you will need a spark arrestor on your bike for the SHNF.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the stock can is approved. Also, the stock can is quiet and we need to always ride stealth.
Check out the Trail Riders of Houston website for maps of the trail system. They have been involved in the SHNF for decades and lead the efforts there.
Is you bike a street legal dual sport? I have the big brother of the DRZ in my garage.
TRH also puts on the Terlingua Dual Sport ride every fall in Terlingua. It is a great ride and worth the trip west.
