I recently pulled apart my front forks on my 1997 yz125 in order to change out some leaking fork seals using this guide: http://www.mxboards.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20 When I pulled off the fork cap while holding the jamnut the rubber bumpstops or "bumper" (as referred to in that guide) crumbled apart. I looked up the parts on the Yamaha online catalogue but didn't see any thing that resembled the bumpstop. I am assuming that those bumpstops were never needed--the suspension was never fully compressed--else those bumpstops would have already disintegrated inside of the fork tube. Is this something that you can leave out? I am planning on going a head and trying to just make my own bumpstops out of poly urethane from the local Autozone. Thoughts? Ryan
