I've had my KX for about 6 months now, and recently had some engine work done. While the engine was being rebuilt, it was noticed that there were no engine numbers on it ! I have been told by two different people that a) KX's don't come with them, and b) yes they do ! :(
Can someone tell me which one is right please ! The bike is approx 1990, according to the frame number, and is a UK bike.
Thanks in advance

They do come with them from the factory. If some engine work had been done prior and the cases were changed, it's possible that they didn't have a number stamped on them.

If the embossment where the numbers are supposed to be is ground down, then it's pretty clear that they were removed for a reason. It should be on the right side of the engine, near the clutch cover usually.
