i just recently got a 2001 cr125 and im new to the 2 stroke engine. is it normal for it to smoke a whole lot during warm up? after i ride it around a while you can barely see it. someone told me i could have a leak in my crankseal and its leaking oil into the piston. it is spooging alot though. when i bought it didnt seem to smoke as bad when i warmed it up and it didnt spooge alot either. i know i have to keep it on the pipe, and ive been doin that.

There are a few reasons why it is spooging but basicaly most 2bangers will smoke untill the engine is up to temperature and expesialy while the choke is on. You more than likely dont have a crankcase leak, if you did you would be fouling plugs every 10 minutes.. It could be the Mix you use or the pipe or muffler could be cloged. If you use a top notch oil like MOTUL you can mix at 50:1 in most new bikes.. Most oils will be pefectly fine to run at 40:1, so just lean it out a bit and see if it helps with the spooge.

i mix my motul at 40:1. my pro circuit muffler does have a lot of black stuff all in it. and the spark plug always has oil around it when i check it but it starts up fine.

Motul is a very good oil and i would suggest that 50;1 is a good mix for that oil. Ive been using shell lately at 40:1 but when i have motul i will go to 50:1.. It possible to have a leek in the crankase but i doubt it would be the case if the plugs dont faul up..Has the jetting been changed?.

Clean out your pipe
Repack the muffler
Run 50.:1 (20ml per litre ) Try these things firsrt then you can narrow it down..

i dont think its the muffler because u can see it spewing out a little by the head and pipe meet, and a little where the pipe and silencer meet. the jetting has not been changed since i bought it.

You need to put in a 40 pilot jet as std was 45 and very rich.ALso a 2169 needle works better.
