the xr 400 ive been asking about(exelent condition '98 for $3200), the trade in value (kbb) is $2330 (good condition) and the suggested retail is $3415. Im thinking this is a good deal, im going to take a test ride o this friday. ill probly bring a mag lite to check for cracks and all that stuff. Im not sure if this is going to be the right bike for me, at 5'9'' and 240 lbs. Is this kind of like a desert bike or is it a good trail bike? i apreciate the advice. whtas a good way to get the guy to come down on the price, just find flaws and go from there? (thats what most people do to me). are the stock shocks stiff or like my old kdx? if i spend 3k on this i wont have to much for mods (still in high school) so i want a good one to start. but, what mods do you guys recomend? thanks ps- i ride mostly tight trails and fire roads.
