Girlrider,

I bet there are a lot of people that don't know how much guts its takes to get through a six day event. This isn't a one day moto event, more like a six day "no-holds barred" enduro.

Completing a six day ISDE is a meaningful accomplishment. Will you be going back for more? :D

I bow in awe of your accomplishments! It's my wish to be as fast as Girlrider when I grow up. :)
Waitaminute, I am grown up. :(

Way to go, Nicole! Need a special display case for that medal.

needsprayer,

I won't be going back this next year because GG is giving me a trials bike to compete in observed trials. Now it is my goal to make the Trial De Nations Team and then finish the Scottish 6 days which is on a trails bike.

I would really like the opportunity to do it again because this year I feel like I rode SOOOOO SLOOOOWWW! I broke my collarbone 12 weeks earlier and had to train while it was broke. I was so desperate to finish that I rode like a whimp as to not get hurt. Next time I don't care, I am going for it!!!!!:)

Congrats on the Bronze. It is indeed a hard earned achievement. You have accomplished what many dream, fewer attempt and few actually do. It was always something that I dreamed about, my first dream was the Trials Des Nation. I hope you achieve your goals. Maybe a few of us can live vicariously through you.

You have two things to be especially proud of - a Skunk helmet and a ISDE medal. Congratulations.

Nicole-
Are you going to be at the first 2 rounds of the Nationals in FLA? It'll be nice to have some new faces in the Women's Championship. I also know of a girl from TX that is planning on riding the Nationals too (trials).

Congratulations on the six days medal!!!

When I first starting riding/racing I would spray paint my helmet with the traditional skunk stripes. I rode some of the qualifiers, but never found the ability or funds to make it to the big race. The closest I ever got was helping a friend qualify 10 years ago.
It was very cool to see pictures which included DRN stickers at the six days!

Good luck in the trials events.

I think the reverse of the medal says something about having nads of steel, even if you are a woman :)

Nicole, well done, just hanging in there is unreal, I can just imagine after a days hard riding, and you have to face another 5. Next thing for you the Paris/Dakar, only 15 days and 10,000 kms.

I can only imagine the stories your grand children will hear. Abfab !

Speaking of Amanda, that's Mandy Mastin, the other Women USA Rider that got a ISDE Bronze Medal this year, she's here at The Trials Training Center. She just did one of our Crosstraining 101 Schools so she could become a better, faster rider. Boy, did she excel at picking up trials techniques! I went out with the school on the 2nd day to see how she was doing and I was amazed. She had a natural "knack" for it and if she wanted to compete at the Trials Nationals, she sure could. She's tough and not afraid to try any obstacle!

We're going down to Suzy's house this morning to ride with Suzy, as Mandy hasn't seen her since the 6 days and I haven't seen her since the last enduro back in November. Suzy's got several miles of trails at her house and a grass track. So, we'll be on the "go-fast" bikes today!
