ISDN over wireless broadband?

anyone had luck w/ISDN circuits and how do they compare with wireless broadband? I can't get DSL or cable in my location but a wireless broadband is starting up for 47.95 mo. but the download speeds are only 300KBPS. Definitely beats my dial up but a friend told me he had an ISDN connection and it seemed to work OK, also let him have a 2nd phone line on it. Cost is about 40.00 per mo. not including the cost of an ISDN router.

Well ISDN can come in 2 ways one channel of 64K or dual channel of two 64K lines when linked gives you a total of 128K. Now with a good ISDN modem or router, you dont need another phone line. Dual channel ISDN is 2 seperate lines with their own phone number for each line. When i had my ISDN I had it set to use both lines, when a call came in or I picked up the phone to call out, one line dropped and gave me a line to use the phone on and the other line stayed hooked to the internet.

It is far slower than any broadband. but 2-3 times faster than the fastest dial up.

I have used dial-up, ISDN, DSL, and CABLE MODEM. I like cable modem best personally.

Look into the 2-way satellite connections. I'm pretty sure that's what Okie is using now and its as fast or faster than my cable. Okie??

ISDN is a big PITA. Speeking from a providers side. Its not so complicatied to turn up on your end, but if the techs don't know what they are doing it will sure suck for you in service or support. Like it was mentioned above the wireless broadband would be the ticket. Also, the new 2-way satellite connection stuff is pretty cool. I can't get DSL in my area, but lucky enough to have cable modem provider.

The two-way Sat is great IF you can't get ANY other broadband. Upload speeds are the same as a 56K modem, which isn't a problem for web surfing, etc., but sucks if you put a lot of files up, send a lot of large emails, etc. Also, Sat is bad for online gammers (latency). I got rid of the ISDN and went wth the Sat... no phone lines cost; 49 /mth.

I'm waiting on the a local company to get their wireless going (supposed to be this month), 10Mbps up and down, low pings :) THAT is fast.
