It's been a while....top-end time frame??

If I do decide on a CR250, on average, how often will I have to replace piston/rings etc? I wouldnt be riding too often, every other weekend most likely. Also most of the riding would be trails. How often am I looking a a top end? $? anything else to consider when comparing 2 stroke to a 4?

I know many guys that have 250s and only trail ride them that go a full year or even two before top-end rebuilds.
