my 01 yz125 is all stock, C sized piston and carbon fiber reeds are the only differences from its factory form. should the carb be rejetted for this? i bought the bike used and it has a 450 main jet in it, but factory specs call for a 420. it sometimes sputters at wot. should i change the jetting or leave it?

If it sputters fix it. Do a chop plug test if you believe the main jet is the wrong size.

re-pack your Silencer
and clean your carb first. :silly:

The stock MJ is 460 on this bike.
I had to go leaner on the PJ and the clip at pos. 2, and the MJ to a 450.
AS 1 3/4 - 2 turns out.

This is at clear/hardpack/temp is 50 - 75, Alt> 500 '
Could use a 1/2 leaner on the needle at 75 deg. or change the needle.
Plug> BR8ES.

Go back to the stock MJ> 460 then do a plug chop.
Later.
