I'm running a 36mm Air Striker on an air cooled 87 motor. I bought it off ebay, it was set up for another bike. I changed the jetting to spec based on an 88's PWK35.
It's running strong but loading up after 15-20 mins riding.

Can anyone recommend starting point jetting for this type of carb. It's standard (not RB modded).

The slide has 45 stamped on it.

Jetting at the moment is
M 155
P 48
N CEJ clip in the middle

(Spare needles include DEK, CCJ and BGP.)

Thanks for any help. There are a few variables here, and I'm guessing this type of carb has its own quirks. It would be good to know where to start.

That is a pretty rich slide so a cek/ cel/ dek/ del might be a better bet. to see if this is on the right track, drop the needle a clip and lean out the pilot. one change at a time. since you have a dek I'd start there.

Thanks Fishhead. BTW I discovered it's a 35mm AS (oops)

Like you say the 45 slide is too rich for the bike, so I'm going to try either the #6 slide CEK combo, or the #7 CEJ.

Which one do you think would best suit the older motor? Start point jetting will be 48/160 (sea level to 100m)
