I notice the crankcase seal on the shift lever shaft of my 1980 KDX 175 was leaking oil. How does one go about removing it without having to split the cases and remove the shifter shaft? Do you just dig it out and bend it up with a pair of needle-nose or is there a tried and true method? Once off I'm assuming the new one simply slides on and you have to press it into place. I know Kawasaki says to use a special tool, but is there a better trick?
