I strongly have to disagree to this. Let me explain. If this were a singletrack, or two track, or even a jeep trail through the forest, it would be a different story. This accident happened on a 2 lane, maintained, graded, signed forest road. It is the main road through the riding area that links two staging areas together. To say that I should have slowed down, as I crested the hill is like saying that I should slow down my truck everytime I crest a hill on the freeway. I was standing up, aware of my surroundings. Im sure I decelerated as I crested the Hill. There was quite a bit of traffic on the road. Jeeps, Quads, trucks with Toyhaulers etc. The simple fact is that these three guys should not have been riding 3 wide on this road. Im sure it was just a lapse in judgement, and was not intentional. Secondly, if the rider would have just held his line, we would have passed. It was his Panic reaction that caused him to slide out, right in front of me. which resulted in me t-boning him right behind the motor. If I had been going say, 25mph, the result would not have been much different. If I had been in my truck, leaving the area, He was still in the wrong place at the wrong time.
