KDX headlight bulb

My 97 KDX 220 needs a new headlight bulb. I'm putting the stock headlight/number plate on and there is no bulb in it.

What type bulb is needed? Can I get it at a local parts store?

You need an 35watt H6M Bulb. You will need to get this from a cycle shop more than likely, don't think an auto parts store will have this.

You were right. Auto parts store did not have the H6M. Guess I'll have to wait for the cycle shop to open on Monday.

My owners manual electrical schematic says 12V30Watt bulb. You say 35Watt. You sure? Not much of a difference.

Stock is 30 watts at around $23 for the Kawasaki special bulb. You can get a Yamaha 25watt for around $9.

Local Yamaha shop says H4M is the bulb for their 2010 WR's. Is a H4M a 25 watt and a H6M a 35 watt? Your $9 estimate for the Yammie bulb is spot on.

From what I have been told, the bulb you are looking for comes from a '89 to '05 Banshee.

I found a bulb at my local Honda/Yamaha store but the price we guesstimated was way off....................................they were $3.99.....not $9. I bought two.

Just put bulb in and started bike. Wish my Bultaco's had headlights this bright. One of the ones I have is licensed and insured. This KDX/Yammie bulb combo is blinding compared to the candle in that bike.
