1)5'9", 180 lbs
2)I ride very aggressivly
3)I ride a little of everything, single track, dunes, desert, mx, harescrambles, and probably more
4)About 14 years of 2 wheeling under my belt
5)I race a little, normally a couple of harescrambles and maybe 6 mx races a year.
6)I'm very mechanically inclined, I used to pay the bills that way!
7)I'm really stuck on 2 strokes, but will consider the dark side
8)Every brand is around here somewhere
9)I don't know my price limit yet, but I am thinking of looking new. Probably just shy of affording a pretty shiny Aprilia RXV (looked the other week, man those are sweet)
This is me ----> :bang:
I'm growing tired of my KDX220. It's a great bike, but lacks in power and suspension, and I have already cranked too much money into the thing. Please don't say "just build it up", because it's already about as built as it can get short of a fork swap. I've had the KDX for a few years now as my "do it all" ride, but outside of single track it is starting to disapoint me. I must be getting faster, because it seems the throttle never turns far enough anymore. In 250 C class mx I finish mid pack or better on it, and in hare scrambles I run near the front in the 3 hour class, so I'm an ok rider.
I was set on a YZ 250 for a while, but now that I am thinking of total KDX replacement I an thinking something with an orange tint to the plastic. :nener: I'm just not sure though, there's so many bike choices out there!
When I said above that I want to plate it, I just mean to make more trails legal. I don't plan on commuting with it or anything. I sometimes ride where a mile or two of pavement might need to be traveled to link trails.
What would you get for a do-it-all bike? Special offers and financing may sway me, but I am still looking for opinions here. Thank you.
