Havng read about piston probs on the web, and then getting feedback on this site, I believe I'm going to purchase an aftermarket piston/ring set and replace the stock piston.

Any recommendations on rebuild documentation - do's/dont's?

I don't have a service manual, thought there might be enough literature on the web to keep me going in the right direction. Used to rebuild small block chevy engines, so am not afraid to pick up some metric tools and get to work.

Any help will be appreciated.

get a manual for the bike its much easier then you have it for other things you may need it for.
