KE100 dies when I let off the choke!!

I've got a 99 KE100 with about 900 miles on it. This bike is almost new. The bike starts fine with the choke on, when the engine is good and warm I turn the choke off. The engine rpm then increases rapidly then the motor sputters and dies. If I put the choke back on, it'll run again. I haven't used the bike for the last couple of years, but when I took it out this year, it started acting like this. The carb was cleaned, but it wasn't dirty to begin with. Air cleaner is fine, and I always used preservative on it when it would be in storage. Is there any adjustments that I can make to the carb? Any tuning information or other ideas of what could be the problem? And yes, I did put fresh gas in it.

Sounds like an air leak.

Most likely the left side crank seal.

Thats a Kawasaki for ya. Better get a Suzuki to solve your problems. :)

your either getting too much air or not enough gas. Check the bottom of your gas tank for junk and re-check the petcock and gas line.

I had an old bike do that and it turned out to be trash in the carb jets. The choke was adding the extra gas to keep it running.

Maybe changes in weather require a richer pilot jet and main.

I had this problem and I think I had the choke backwards because it runs fine now and it doesn't seem to rich
