Has anyone swapped the stock PWK33 carb on their KDX220 for the bigger PWK36??? Is it necessary to replace the intake boot for the larger carb to fit? Baseline jetting info? :eek:
The carb bodies on the PWK 33mm and the 35 (drilled out to 36mm) are the same size. That means that the inside measurement changes from 33 to 36mm and the outside of the carb remains the same. Since the boot fits over the outside, the stock boot remains functional.
Actually, the 33 and 35mm carbs have the same size body, but a 36mm carb has a slightly larger body, and fitment is an issue. This is why they bore out the carb to 36mm, instead of just slapping ina 36mm carb
