about a year ago, my daughter kendall became friends with one of the girls that she was racing with. the girl has a brother that races too. over the next several months our families became close and we would always pit and/or camp together at the races. kendall spent the nite several times at their house and sometimes shared their motel rooms. in july, the father of the kids was killed in a sight-seeing helicopter crash. i made a post about it at the time. our local track held a benefit race for the family (okie donated a dirtweek pass to the benefit). the news came and did a story on the benefit but the family didn't want to go on camera. the news crew asked me to appear on camera but i refused also. they said that they wanted an interview with someone that knew the family well. i told them to talk to my daughter. here it is...
