I need to pull off my right side engine cover to fix my power valve assembly. The first step looks like removing the kickstarter lever. Simple enough...take off the nut and pull it off. Yeah right! That thing must have never been taken off because it is on there!!! Does anyone have advise on how to get it off without damaging the shaft? I tried some Liquid Wrench and taking a pry bar to it, but nothing. Any advice is appreciated!!!

Per Dirt Rider mag..... Loosen the lever nut/bolt slightly, then fold out the lever and use the nut/bolt like a puller....

If all else fails take the nut off and go riding. It should vibrate itself loose. Thats how I lost mine :bang: I'm glad I found it later on.

Thanks for the info. I tried heating it, hammering on it, prying it...and still nothing. So I made a trip to Auto Zone and rented a puller. Got it home, put that sucker on the lever and had it off within 3 minutes. It makes a big difference having the right tools!
