Hi everyone,
iS there a technique to kick a 94 Kawasaki KLX 250 over.
I really stuggle to kick it off.
My dad can kick it over(sometimes) but that is because he has alot of muscle and he still struggles himself.
And i am 15 so i need to know so i dont get laughed at.
sometimes it kicks over cold, but when it is hot you have no chance, you have to bump it off.
When you kick it you have to keep on doing it not 1 not 2 not 3 not4 not5 times you keep on doing it until you run out of breath or the bike kicks off (rarely).
Somebody must help me please.
Thanx KLX_BOY.:(

My dad and I both have KLX300's. A '97 and '99. I am 12 and can kick mine over in one or two kicks hot or cold. First check your fuel mixture screw. Try turning it out 1 1/2 turns. The manual says 2 1/4 but this is too rich. Next try this technique. Slowly push down the kick lever until you feel top dead center (it will get hard). Now slowly bump down the lever until you feel it slip down into a notch. Now release the lever ALL THE WAY to the top and kick it down like you are trying to drive it thru the ground. You have to give it all the power you have, you can't kick it like a 2 stroke. This works every time for us. If you just try to kick it from anywhere in the stroke it will not start. I am 5'7" tall and weigh 185 lbs. so I have a lot of strenght to kick it with, but it just takes practice. You can e-mail me at [email protected] and I will give you my phone number so you can call me and I can explain it better. The bikes are great so don't give up.

slowly kick the kick starter until you feel strong resistance ( 4 strokes makle power on the 4th, hence the resistance) and kick it hard then. always worked for my XR400
