Looking at changing my spring to a straight rate complete with revalved shock 2005 KTM 525SX (valved with progressive spring now) and revalved forks......I want the bike to settle into corners better and be able to hook up and get on the gas sooner......I am a Vet intermediate rider (top 10).....I am going to keep the .46 springs up front and am wondering if I can run the 9.8 rear spring out back......I weigh 220/225 without gear.....worried about being able to hit deep whoops and big jumps and not blowing through the stroke????......can I even go to a 9.4 ???..too light???....I want it to turn better and not sacrifice the big hit capability....I just hear that with the straight rate spring they turn better....is this a good way to go....I ride/race motocross only.....jumpy outdoor tracks....any help would be greatly appreciated.
