Hi All,
I am updating a parts crossover list on the Gasgas Riders Club website - www.gasgasrider.org and updating a bunch of other stuff on it too.

I know current model 2 stroke KTM radiators fit on the gasgas. Does anyone know how far back in model year one can go and still have them fit on the gasgas?

thanks
jeff

Sorry, can't help you with your question but appreciate what your doing.

I'm new to Gas Gas and have a lot to learn. Information such as this should help put more people at ease about about being able to get parts. I know it was my biggest concern.

Are you sure? I know the guards (plastic, force air into the rads) cross-over, but the actual radiators? Also I believe the cap can be replaced with a KTM unit that is less likely to boil over (1.6atm).

You can surely mount the KTM radiators to the GG's frame, but I doubt that there is a 100% identical radiator.
The GasGas radiators are connected with each other with a 8mm hose at the top (in the steering head area where they plug in that little overflow tank), while KTM radiators all have a bleed screw and no connection to each other on top.
Also KTM has the cap on the other side (when I remember correctly) so in any case you will have to swap both radiators when you want to replace a damaged one on a GG with a KTM one.

In case my description was a bit crude - I have found a picture of a 2001 KTM cooling system: http://216.165.194.66/mattocycle/catalog/2001\250-380\radiator - exc.gif

Hi Jeff,
The older (~'00) KTM four stroke radiators are a close match to the GG items. The RFS radiators have the additional cooling passage, top crossover tube and similar connection stubs. Mounting to the frame and for the shrouds is slightly different.

The compatability may very well be there, but they aren't the same radiator. One of the BulletProof team riders is on GG and his bike required totally different guard design than either the four stroke or two stroke KTM guards (we were hoping the KTM guards would be a match but unfortunately weren't). Kind of a cross between the two KTM radiators actually.
