Nephew just bought a 2002 ktm Sr Adventure, was riding a 2002 Yam pw50 and moving up, about to break back from full throttle most of the time. Just wondering what mods to look towards in the near future. Would have bought a Jr. or sr pro, but wasn't any to be found in area. Bike is totally stock right now. Thanks for mods starting with cheapest and quickest first. :)

Now is the time to put your money down for a Pro SR and try to hold off on the mods to the adventure.

If your planning on racing in the peewee's, the stock rules for AMA are pretty strict. NMA and GNC have mod classes, but the Adventure will always be behind the LC KTM's, Cobra's or Polini's.

But if you want to sink the money into the adventure, contact EG Racing. They seem to have the moto morini motors figured out.

Also, start gussetting the frame to keep it straight and from braking. You'll also need to address the suspension by upgrading the shock and looking at emulators and heavier springs for the forks. Get heavy duty spokes from Buchanan as well.
