Kx100 As A Trail Bike

I just bought a 2008 KX100 for my 11 year old son as he moves up from a CRF100. I had considered a CRF150 or even a CRF230 as his next bike but the 20lbs less than the CRF100 was the deal maker.

I took the bike for a spin and wow, just wow. What a bike. With my 30 inch inseam this 34 inch seat height is where I should have been all along. I loved my 2000 KDX200 but the 37 inch seat height was always a challenge.

At 1st my son was intimidated but once he got going he loved the KX.

...now I'm considering a KX100 for myself and modifying it for me!

Nice! The KX100 will be fine on the trails. Your weight would be the only thing to consider when picking a 100 ... end of the day, if it can scare you on the trail, you're good. :)
