What sparkplug can be used in place of a NGK R6252K-105 for a 99' kx100. They're $18 and not kept in stock, so there's 3-4 days shipping, and that's just for a single sparkplug! My kdx uses a $3 B9ES that can be bought practically anywhere.
Been through this with my daughter's KX85. The story from Kawasaki and NGK is that the small 2-strokes tend to get hot and vibrate like hell. The standard bent ground electrode design has had a history of breaking off under these conditions and causing lots of engine damage. The stock plug that nobody carries has a welded ground electrode that is not gap-able and is designed especially for this application.
I bought eight or nine of them on-line at buykawasaki.com. They are $7.30 each.
I had a '99 KX 80 and fouled two of the stock R6252K-105's. Then I put a $1.50 BR8ES in there and never fouled another plug again. Depending on what type of riding/RPMs you're running the bike you might want to run a BR8ES (lower RPMs, more trail riding), BR9ES (intermediate riding, some-most high RPMs), or BR10ES (expert riding, WFO all the time).
