I currently own a kx100 with an IMS over sized tank to 2.4 gallons on it. and it ran 50 miles no problem. we (me and dad) figure about 60 miles to the tank. well if i were to get a kx125 it ahs a 2.2 gallon tank on it. would i be able to get about 50 miles off this tank? i understand it will use more gas than my 100, but it's only .2 gal smaller, will that really sacrifice 10 miles?

C'mon, someone has to have an estemate. I really like the motocross bikes, but i need to know if i can make a 46 mile trail, before i spend the extra grand on this over the kdx

I would try to make it with a small bottle (in the airbox or some place)as a reserve and see how far it goes, it varies so much with riding speed/style i think its hard to give a answer.

I know my 03 KX125 seems to be very thirsty compared to my previous 125s.

yea i could do the tank thing. which i'm thinking about it, maybe if i can get a good deal on a 2003 that is left over. bc the trails we normally ride are only 21-30 miles. but we like to do the 46 mile ones. i could always throw a quart bottle into a back back with hydration system, like the camel backs, but a third the price from mijers

well nvm i've pretty much decided on the kx125. mainly bc of the size
it's only 191 dry where the kdx is 222, so that's 30 pounds lighter. plus the ergonomics are much narrower and i'm not a real big guy, 5'5 or 6" 35 pounds and 15 years old. Plust with the woods we ride, i need the narrowness. my dad struggles witht he kdx on the tighter stuff a little still and he's, 5"7" 170 Pounds. so i think i'd have a hard time handling it through the tight turns and whoops, over the kx125. Plus i pretty much know the mileage. My friends friend rode a 46 mile trail on the wide, quad, trails pretty much wide open and made it. he ahas a 200 kx125.
