I just bought an 01 kx250 and it doesnt have very much on the low end but when i get in tha powerband it hits like a truck. I was wondering if their were any ways to get more low end power on it. Right now i have an fmf gold series exhaust on it but also have a pro circuit with stock silencer. The guy i bought it from raced the bike also any ideas?

Couple places to start:

Carb jetting: Is it dialed in? Getting much splooge in the exhaust?
Topend: When's the last time it was replaced?
Sprockets/Countershaft gear: What size (number of teeth) are you running?

Before you start replacing parts its best to make sure the bike is running 100% with what it has.

if you dont care about top end change the gearing. My yz is geared for low end and its amazing in the trails, but when im in a straight away im always looking for another gear.

what about a flywheel wieght? it would ease the hard hit of the poweband and give it some more low end.
