kx500 lower tree

Why do some use the kx500 lower tripple tree and stem when doing a kx125 kx 250 fork swap to a kdx 200/220??

I think its because some models of the KX500 share the same head bearings as the kdx. Making it an easier swap. I'm not 100 percent on that but someone else may know more and let you know.
