kx500 wont run right carb adjustments?

i have an 88 kx500 it starts but wen it starts the rpms go crazy it goes high to low some times its like the throttle sticks do i just need to adjust the carb? i just bought the bike and just got it running had to put a new head gasket on it and thats it. it does leak a little bit of gas out of the bleeder. please help

well that could be a lot of things, my '92 500 idles like crazy when cold, it has a hole in the pipe, it also has cracked cases, and the impeller shaft is leaking, I dont know what you problem is but I do know that its not good and that your bike should be taken apart and fixed properly to keep your bike from burning up. I'm in the process of fixing mine and i know that its a long haul but its worth doing.

It sounds like you have a vacum leak somewhere make sure you installed the gasket right and the gasket between the reeds and the cylinder are not leaking
