Hello everyone! I just found out I made the ballot for the SSDT in May. They actually did turn down 3 Americans but I imagine being a girl helps. There were over 475 entries and they can only have 275 riders. My husband can't get off work so Lisa is going to be my mechanic instead. It is May 3-10th and is in Fort William Scotland. On average I will ride about 120 miles a day. 80 miles less than the ISDE that I did but keep in mind a trials bike has no seat. Ugh! Hopefully they will have a computer so we can send you updates.

Good luck Nicole. Heck, what a resume you're putting together for yourself - GO GET 'EM :)
120 miles on a trials bike per day for six days. That sounds like fun ;)
Congratulations & you know we'll be sending lots of luck & best wishes your way. Hope it all goes well for the two of you.

Lissa- no I have not competed in any enduro's. I did one last year where I helped other women in the event but other then that the enduro bike is semi-retired. Trials has just been so fun and a new challenge. Not to mention GG gives me a bike and makes it much more affordable to do. No ISDE this year but I do entertain thoughts of doing it again but right now I am having the time of my life riding trials. Actually I may even sell my enduro bike this year.

We will keep you posted on what happens with the Scottish. I may even need to send another jersey around for you all to sign. I wore mine last year on day 4 and it was much needed at that point. Anyone good at engineering that can make a light weight seat for my trials bike??

Congratulations and good luck Girlrider!

A friend of Karl's that is moving away just gave him a 75TY250 (it has a seat!) that hadn't been started in 9 years. Karl went through the carb, did some other minor work to it and it's off and running.

So, he finally gets to try his hand at some trials and according to him, I get to learn how to ride a wheelie. From the looks of the weather here we'll be playing on the new toy this weekend.

Hey girlrider? Have you ever seen the seat foam stuff the sport bike racers use? It's like one inch thick foam with a adhesive back if you really need a tush cushion.

Wow Nicole, that's great. Best of luck to you, I know you'll do great. Keep us posted. That many miles on a bike (with a seat) would kill me, without a seat ......

If you do the jersey again, put me on the list!

Way to go, Nicole!

I know I've said this before, but you're an inspiration to us all! :)

And Scotland is a beautiful country--enjoy it!  Make sure you pick up a bottle of the local soda pop-- "Irn Bru".  It's rather...interesting! ;)

I used (computer) mouse pad's on my road race bikes, although it doesn't solve the super low seat height issue for you.

Racer,
That is a good idea. The access to the airfilter is right on top of the seat. So maybe if I ordered some of that and then got some velcro I could stick it on and then I could easily remove it to change my airfilter. Thanks for the link.

JTT What is the Hagus? I have heard of the Moor's (Big mud Holes) but not the hagus.

Its a wonderful Scottish food which you must try. Its basically a sheep's stomach filled with a mixture of sheep's offal and oats. Very tasty ;)
