I'm not for sure on that frame yet. I'd like to see it in person to pass judgement. What got him in the mood to powdercoat his frame Twinspar? I know he probably won't see another like it, but Damn, a powdercoated CR frame. Crazy, different, but cool I guess.

No idea. I saw it on his website. I couldn't believe it... powdercoated frame, engine cradle, swingarm, and subframe. I like it and you definetely won't see many CR(F)s that look like that. I'm curious at how the finish is going to hold up to normal wear and tear.

Is it powdercoated or black anodized? There's a company here in Dallas that does such and I've seen his bike on their website as well.

A lot of people powdercoat their frames. It's not much more expensive (maybe cheaper) than a professional paint job and is way more durable. Nice work RockChucker :worship: The red anodized parts top it off nicely.

Twinks - if it's powdercoated it will hold up very well, way better than any paint. We powdercoated Aimee's RM frame when she still had it and highly recommend it.

Last year I did a complete tear down of my YZ 250 frame, I have a contact in the powdercoating industry and got the whole frame and subframe powdercoated black. Here's the thing with powdercoating as with most finishes, if you get the glossy finish it will show scratches, they are only surface scratches and that is what seperates regular paint from powdercoating, powdercoating is VERY hard to scratch to the metal. I don't run a skid plate yet and I've bottomed out a couple of times on the and the bottom frame rails only show scuffing whereas my painted frame showed down to bare metal. I like it and it is one off so I would not recommend many people powdercoat their frames black, because then my bike and this CRF wouldn't be trick anymore.

AJ did a black framed AF a couple years ago. Pretty sure it was anodized.
