Usually when UPS arrives with your package they need payment for the taxes/duty owing plus a "brokerage" fee for brokering your purchase through Canada Customs (paying the tax) for you. UPS usually charges exorbitant brokerage fee's for this "service". This is the reason using USPS is the preferred method of shipping as they charge a flat $5 brokerage fee.
