i guess it all depends how high it actually is for you. Can you shave the seat down some to help ya out? There are ways to lower bikes but i'm not to sure of the best way
rodH posted the most correct way to lower your suspension while keeping the geometry correct. A quick, inexpensive way is to increase rear sag and raise the forks in the clamps. This will lower it a few inches but may sacrifice suspension action if you get aggressive.
I second sick 96 250's idea, trimming the seat foam is common and doesn't cost anything either.
