Hey,
Im tall, 6'6, and 195lbs. I did a search on how to lower my pegs and they basically said to take off the peg, and mount it under/behind the mount on the frame. Am i understanding this right? mabye if someone could take a picture i could get a better idea of what to do.

Thanks in advace,
Andy

The thing is on my RM the mounts are switched, the wider part is mounted to the frame and the 2 parts that go on either side of that are on the peg. Give me a mintue and i will get a picture.

indy650,

I ride a 03 RM250 and am 6'2". I went with a raised seat from SDG, TAG upper clamps and the TAG CR double hi bars. The last mod I did was the FASTWAY Low Boy pegs. I have had them on the bike for the past 5 months and as of last week I removed them. My issue was by moving the peg down it also moves it back. The shift lever will only move so far before it comes into contact with the frame. I found that shifting was difficult and I just couldn't get comfortable with the placement and shifting. The same problem exists with the rear brake but not as bad. I wear a size 11 boots, maybe if my foot was bigger I would have better reach.

The taller pros do the seats and bars/triple clamps. They seem to stay away from the pegs I belive for the same reason's I have stated. I found that riding this weekend with the stock pegs back on a dramatic differance in my riding. If you decide to go to the Fastways let me know and if you have a RM I will make ya a hell of a deal on them.

i dropped the pegs on my YZ and added an extra rail to the front- i did a lot of mods on that bike and that (for me) was the best one....everyone raves about them pegs!!!

i didnt do it on my 02 rm though, since they only changed the peg mounting to be like the YZ in 03- the GUTS mega tall seat worked good for me in that case- the foam is nice and stiff so gripping with the knees is easy.

I would be VERY interested in your pegs, i wear a size 14 boot and for me the shifter is too close, makes it hard to shift while standing.

Thanks again for the replys!

indy650,

Does any run scared and call ya big foot  With a size 14 boot you probably won't have the issue with the shifter that I have. The Fastway pegs are for a 03 RM250. You may want to check the website and make sure they fit your bike. I paid $100 for them new. Make me an offer. They are in perfect condition. My email is steven@kytel.com.

It doesent have any pegs listed for the RMs anymore, i will send an e-mail to the tech line right now.

I could get away with a size 13 boot but i somtimes ride in winter or early spring when its pretty damn cold out and i need thicker socks.
