You posted this pic a while back Rich, I still use it as my background from time to time...just a super looking machine....I don't ride trials, and don't know anything about it, but that's art..

Matt - It's an EFI 250 four-stroke Honda built by Montesa (who is owned by Honda). It's the only bike on the planet cooler than my Honda HRC engined 250 two-stroke Montesa. ;)

Ron Lee here locally had one of the 2007 SY250F's. There were only two in the U.S. He has an 08 Beta coming in October. The modern trials bikes are precision engineering and art melded together, IMO.

My friend has a 2006 GG TXT 300 Pro. I love that thing. I'd buy a trials bike but I have too many other bikes right now and I want even more! That 300 is incredible though, soooo much power.

Rich, have you seen the specs for the Montessa? Looks pretty light. I like the very smooth lines, not much to hang a boot on. Thanks for the pics.
BTW, do you think that is just a carbon fiber cover over the exhaust on the first pic? Looks real trick.

The first two pics are the Repsol replica, which is sort of a special edition model built as a replica of the Team Honda bikes. My guess is it's real carbon fiber. ;)

Once the full specs are available they should be available at www.montesausa.com

Have you heard about the new 4T GasGas yet? I believe it will be 350cc's and it's only supposed to weigh 3 lbs more than the current 2T 300 pro. I've heard rumors that the first one will be unveiled at the Octobertest trials event in Disney, OK.

I haven't tried any Montesa, but I did try, when I was riding trials, my father's 2005 Beta 250cc. I had a Sherco 2.5 2004 at that time, and I totally fell in love with the Beta. Everything was easier on the bike, it really surprised me. Their new 4 stroke is pretty slick also:

Any thoughts about the bike Rich?

One of the local national-level riders has a Raga version of this bike. It is a full-on factory works bike which weighs 138 lbs.

The Beta's Rev3's have always been very good looking and performing bikes IMO. Almost at the same level as the Montesa, just always a few little refinements shy but more than good enough for us mere mortals. The 4T version is aparently only 1.5kg heavier than the 2T and as an added bonus has right side kickstarting!

I have a Rev-3 and I've ridden the new Beta 4T. It's a nice bike. The suspension feels great and it will tractor up hills like you wouldn't believe.
