MC announced a deal with AST/THOR and in-turn will end his 10 year relationship with No Fear.
Good sources say MC will also be sponsored by Budwiser/Bed Light?
Word is MC will announce all of his sponsors on Dec 14.
Regards

I have mixed feelings on the Bud Light deal. Its great that they are pouring money into the sport to keep it going, but on the same hand, beer and jumping 100 ft gaps don't go together. Most people understand this concept but some don't. Darwinism comes to mind here. MC probably doesn't even drink beer but some 12 yo kid that worships the ground he roosts on may think its cool to down a few while rideing. We are all free to make our own decisions, and common sense must come into play somewhere along the line, but I know that advertising is powerful. What do you guys think?

People stupid enough to do what they see on T.V. deserve what they get.
And anyways he is not advertising drinking and riding he is just advertising drinking. Which when used with caution/control is not dangerous.

I was told by some guys that know MC, that he owns the MX apparel side of NO Fear and also Spy, so it really doesn't end a relationship.

They said the switch is merely a sponsorship revenue issue., It doesn't make since to pay yourself to ride with your own gear.

For what that was worth

Oh and based his buds ( no pun intented ) He parties hardy

Well I should have read KX-727 racer X link first, It sound like they aren't as tight as they think :think :p :o

Byrd that is like saying "NASCAR" is telling its viewers to drink and drive down the road and take every next left turn at 180 mph.
I dont think that people are that stupid. If someone is it will be the same person who did it last weekend. Beer sponsors all forms of motorsports and it was not long ago that Coors sponsered Super Cross. I think that we will all be just fine and better off for this.:D

I don't agree with the Bud sponsorship. To many kids are fans of SX, Not the image the sport should portrait.

Its all about the parents

If parents care enough about their kids, they will talk with them about seeing a Bud sticker on MC's bike. I think it would be extremely difficult to keep alcohol advertising from kids. Heck, it wasn't that long ago that our MX heros were all sporting Coors Extra Gold decals (SX series sponsor) on their number plates!

I have been to Nascar races and NHRA Drag races and there are lots of kids that are BIG fans of the sport and of the drivers and they all look like normal kids same as MX only it's just diff kind of racing. I did not ever see kids there smoking or drinking.:)

The kids are not interested in the beer ads, they are there for the racing. This hold true across the board.
Kids are not old enough to drink at these events anyway...:)

When kids are exposed to advertisements and given the impression by adults that they respect(parents, sports heros) that drinking is ok they are far more likel;y to have problems with alcohol later in life
