Rolling GP, you hit the nail on the head. I'm envious in a big way. I guess you could say the open bike bug has bit me-bad.

I'm seriously salivating over both a CRF and the Service Honda, with the Service Honda winning. I've ridden a 450 and liked it, but I really want to ride that 500. Sure wish those lottery tickets would cash in, then I could get both. :)

You know, I don't think Casey is that far from KC- 6hours? Maybe I can round up a couple of KC buds and make a road trip there. Is there open practice on Saturdays (non-race weekends)? Where could I find a race schedule, maybe get my tree-dodging butt out on the MX track. Sounds fun:)

Closet MXA fan...

Ok, so maybe the guys at MXA know more about writing than riding (and some of you might think they know nothing about either), but Jody's box never disappoints, and their articles are generally informative for the inter. and below rider. Also, they've been doing this stuff for ages, they know how to push a magazine. Do you so quickly forget that High Torque is a business, with the intention of making money? Of course they have to please their sponsors, otherwise they wouldn't make money...DUH!

I've been reading more and more of Racer X lately, but I don't subscribe to any magazine.

MXA is garbage, the writing is brutal and they don't even put in the good oneal ads. RacerX and TransworldMX are my favorite magazines, and I sometimes pick up a copy of Dirt Rider or Dirt Bike. MXA needs to learn how to find out true facts before they write an article. I wonder what their opinions are on the AMA/CCE split? :p

In :eek: 1928 the Cooperative Fuel Research Committee developed a detonation testing machine. Their single cylinder, valve-in-head, watercooled, 612cc test engine had variable compression. While running at 600 rpm, the engineers gradually increased compression until a knock indicator sensed detonation. The highest compression value that resists detonation is assigned a number.
