I heard they changed the back section of the track a bit, how was it compared to last year?

It's a bit different, kinda hard to explain. They changed the "Monster" Table top, moved it a little and turned it 90 degrees.

Yeah, I read that.. Did they do anything else?

I wish they'd do something to make that downhill on the Monza Bowl a little less likely to toss my a$$ off the bike.

Gary they did make it easier, go to the night track! That downhill after the monza is one of the few OBSTACLES left. Very nice pics. How did you do?

Good stuff Phil!! Red Bud makes for some awesome photos!

If I had to pick some favorites, the 471 whip photo, 27 (love how he's so in focus, and the background is blurred, but so cool looking), and Larsen with the checkered flag. Crash sequence is pretty cool too. The 108 photo would be right up there too if it had a different background, instead of that big pile o'dirt. Looks like you're all ready for the nationals!

Thanks for the props everyone. I think I'm slowly improving, but it's definitely a challenge getting unique shots, after a while everything seems to be same old, same old.

I agree with that so much!!!

It's really hard to find something unique and different..

If you're shooting for mass consumption, you have to really abide by the expectations of the masses.. The standard shots. However, if you are doing it for the art of it, you can do whatever the hell you bloody well like.

I've found that I really like shots that imply the speed & danger of the sport... Also, I've found myself trying to get as low as I can to the ground when shooting at the track. trying to get a different perspective on the action. Not shooting the action to merely document it, but to see if there something going on there that the causal observer might not catch.

So far I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for, but I've come close a few times.
