I would hate to see what my filter looks like after yesterday...geez, what a punishing race. I actually got a good start for a change, and had some clean air for awhile. On the first lap I took the lead in my class, first time ever in a Missouri race. Somehow I held on to the lead for the whole race, another first. Didn't feel like I was riding any faster than normal, but kept it consistent. On the run through the creek bed, there were some spectators off to the right, beside some standing water, and I plowed through in third gear, stuck out my right foot in the water and gave them all a bath. That was cool. I fell one time, on the last lap just past that same creek bed section, partly because some course marshals on ATV's were just ahead of me, and their dust concealed a rut, just enough for me to slide out around a corner. Otherwise, everything was good.
