mods after 300 EXC big bore and porting?

I've sent my 2003 300 EXC cylinder off to Eric to be repaired (whoops), over-bored (310cc), plated and ported (probably not in that specific order ...).

I've read on Eric's site that he recommends a different pipe and silencer. Is this true? Can I keep using my stock KTM pipe and silencer for now? Is switching the pipe/silencer mainly to realize the full potential of the mods? or will my bike run like crap.

Also, if Eric happens to read this (and I KNOW you get these questions all the time ...):

How's my cylinder looking and what's the best way to get a status update on my cylinder, other than calling and bothering you? I'm really jonesing to get my bike back together and get out riding!!! Hopefully you can tell who I am from my name and/or my DRN handle.

Best bet is to call Eric early in the morning. 7am -9am CDT is best.
