I am familiar with the article, and yes, we have contacted Scholastic Magazine. To make a long story short, they said they were sorry and would issue a correction/retraction in their next Teachers' Guide. Of course, the damage has been done, but something's better than nothing. You should protest as you outlined in your note. The more they hear from, the better chance we have of stopping this kind of thing in the future.
