I'll be there with one son and one nephew. Look for lots of new wash-outs and downed trees after these heavy rains. You can't just fly around a corner assuming you know the trail. Shouldn't be dusty, though.
jmd,
if you get this before you leave.......im riding with john. we will be in a white ford ranger with a trailer. we are planning to leave denton at 8:00 so you will probably beat us there. we will probably park in the big grassy area after going through the second gate. see yall there.
I wore myself out pretty well, too, yesterday. It was a real struggle to get the bikes washed and the van unloaded. Think I'll wait for cool day to come along; either that or get started earlier. It was fun, though. Good to see Gene and John and Seldon again.
I agree about the heat. I really didn't notice it until we stopped riding. But loading the bikes, getting home, and washing & unloading the bikes was tough. I don't think I've been more tired after a ride.
We'll just have to start riding earlier in the day. Can't let a little summer heat stop me from riding...
But I had a great time! My sons and I had fun in Pete's gate. We got ourselves in and out of some tight spots. Group effort was required to get bikes over/past/through a few obstacles. I just told them it was helping them build character!
