i was wondering what all i could do to get rid of the arm pump i have been racing quads for 5 years and i got about 1mile on mx track and the arm pump is so back that i cant even close my hand all the way lol going from pushing to twisting is also something i have to get use to every time i land i twist back on the throttle which in turn scares the sh*t out of me lol is there anything you do or just get use to not twisting when you land lol

Thanks for your time

I am not dissing you, but I fail to see how you come off of quads and then get on a bike and have arm pump. There is one reason I dislike quads, and it isn't because they are slower than bikes. Quads beat the piss out of you. I have a good buddy who rides a 450R quad and that thing beats the piss out of me. Even just dragging it in a big field you feel every single tiny bump, whereas on the bike it is almost like riding a cady.

Squeeze the hell out of the bike with your knees. Your 250 will rip your arms off. Make sure you are standing and not sitting. Practice the proper attack position with your bike up on a stand. When you are in the right spot yu should be able to let go with both hands and move all over the place and lean in all directions, while only holding with your legs. The more this becomes second nature the more your arm pump will fade. Also if you lean way over the bars your wrist won';t really let you nail the throttle when landing. I blip the throttle in the air before landing. This tends to stiffen up the suspension when yu land and stop the jolt of getting the wheel moving again. If you do this you may unconciously let off of the gas when landing to. Anyway land rear wheel first when possible with your weight over the bars in the attack position and concentrate on holding the bike with your legs.

You might want to look into a thumb throttle for your CR. I saw a guy who raced a 250R and played around on a YZ125 with a thumb throttle. It worked well for him.

Who cares what it looks like? Besides, you won't have many people asking to ride your bike that way.
