I'm looking to sell my rm and have a spare top end rebuild kit and was going to through it in there before i sold it, i've never done a two stroke rebuild or any for that matter but am pretty mechanically inclined.? Basically i pull the jug and hone it, then gap the rings, install the piston and rings, replace head gasket and slide the jug back on? Couple quick questions come to mind, how will i know when i've honed it enough? I've also heard there's something to watch out for when placing the jug back on, something to do once your get towards the bottom? Also just wondering if there's any specials tips i need?

you have to make sure that the rings are in the grooves on the piston otherwise the rings will get caught in the ports. also i would get a new base gasket for the cylinder too.
