 Yeah, I had to Pony up a few more $$$ after the ride for the crash damage. The first time I went down, I don't know how it happened. I have no recelection of it. I think I lost the front end on a large rock in the middle of the trail and then endoed over the left front side. The bike came down on my left ankle. Nothing broken, on my body, but my visor of my helmet and the large crack in the headlight shell. After that I had a bit of a head ache. The guide gave me a couple of Advils at the lunch stop and I felt like my old self on the afternoon portion of the ride. Then, later in the afternoon I lost it on a technical uphill and just dropped it on the right side, but it was hard enough to sheer off the front brake lever. Fortunately, the guide had a spare in his back pack. You can't ride at 60+ miles per hour with no front brake. Suprisingly the bikes were in pretty good shape for rentals. Mine had tires that were a little too worn for my liking, but riding over rocks in the desert doesn't require the same type of knobs that we are used to here in the east. My bike had Pro Taper handle bars, and an FMF Q exhaust system. A couple of the other bikes had new tires. All had large plastic desert tanks in place of the steel stock tanks, and all of the bikes had aftermarket wide IMS type foot pegs in place of the rubber pegs that are stock on the S model DRZ. I have pictures and I can post them on Monday.
