hey guys so its my day off and I completely took the engine out of the bike. I removed the cylinder and I also took the crankcase(i think) off. The cover on the rightside of the engine. I didnt find a ton of coolant anywhere inside the engine. I flipped it upside down to dump anything else that was inside out and nothing came out. When i took the pipe off there was a ton of coolan in there. So assuming I put the bike back together right everything should be ok. some new gaskets and good to go? I dont want to start putting it back together if theres something else that I should do right now. Thanks. :)

Hows the piston and cylinder look? Any scratches or gouges? If your not going to do lower barrings I would at least do uppers and rings. I would also check for play in the crankshaft it should be able to move from side to side but not up and down play. Then coat everything with assembly(or two cycle oil) and put her back together make sure the piston is facing the right direction and the rings are seated right.

It sounds like your in a hurry and just want this done as fast as possible.

Now if your a professional mechanic and have done this before, thats fine. But if this is your first engine teardown your in for a bit of a surprise. Take your time and try to understand whats going on.

If you understand how the engine works on a conceptual level, its 10 times easier to diagnose problems when they arise.

yeah i dnt have a manual and Im not sure if I put the kickstartet back in right. also the piston. I rather have it done by a pro than let my nooob experience try and do it. I peiced it back together and its sitting in my room. soon as I have some extra cash I will take it in to get all put back together right probably have a new top end put on. but when I took the cylinder off and turned it upside down no coolant came out. thats a good thing because if coolant was to come out I would need new cranks and rods right? so as long as I dont have to do that it shouldnt be too expensive for a new top end
