There's been some other posts about flywheel weights, lower gearing, and porting. Do some searches, they're out there. I'm thinking of making my son's CR80 a little more off-road worthy myself.

Changing the porting will make the biggest difference by far.

Talk to Eric Gorr about boring that bike out to around 100cc. Heard it smooths things out and increases the torque a lot on the small bikes.

I'll let you know when my son's YZ 80 is done. It is unseasonably warm here right now, so I don't want to tear it down yet.

I'm going to have the EG porting done and install whatever reeds he recommends.
