This is my first time on here so I hope I am doing this right. I am ready to buy another bike and wanted some suggestions as to what i should buy. I rode for years bikes and quads and now i have been away form riding for about 4 years. I dont know if i should get a 125 or a 250 two stroke. I am 20years old, 6'3 and and about 240. I would like to start racing but dont know if a 125 will have the power i need. I only have enough money for about a 2001 ish 125 or mabey a 1997ish 250. What bike should i look for, and any suggestions you can give would be great thanks.

250. Don't know how much $$ you've got, but shop ling enough and you can find great deals. I found my bro a 2000 KX 250 for $1500 last May.

You definately need to get a 250... And like robwbright said, shop around and you can find a newer 250 for a good price.

At your height and weight, a 125 might be a bit under powered if you plan on trail riding. But still, if you plan on racing and practicing riding techniques on a track, the 125 is best to improve on and focus on riding techniques.

Do you feel if you get a 125 later you will still get a 250? If so then I'd go ahead and get the 250. If you plan on getting one or the other and sticking...get whichever you feel more comfortable with. I am a 4-stroke trail rider and I don't know to much about racing, except that I know I like watching it.
